Mrs. Seigle and her first grade class are in the immersion phase of Writer's Workshop, learning about 'How to' books. Students will soon write and illustrate their own books.

Berkeley Staff wishes everyone a safe and fun Halloween!
Reminder: you can donate your leftover candy to Mrs. Petersen to help the Paramus Veterans Memorial Home.

Thank you Berkeley PSO, Mr. Raymundo, parents, and students for our annual Halloween Trunk or Treat and Haunted Gym....ready from 6-8 pm! Boo!

We hope to beat the world record; we will be checking soon! Thank you again Mrs. Brennan and all our guest readers today!

We continue celebrating Read for the Record all day...trying to beat the world record!

Here are a few more guest readers and special moments from our Read for the Record today.

Berkeley School is joining readers across the world for Read for the Record:

Thank you to our guest readers and Mrs. Brennan and Mrs. Portelli in making our day so special! Keep checking back for more pictures today.

Mrs. Houck and some first grade friends use various Orton Gillingham strategies for reading. Finger tapping is always fun to use with short vowels!

Berkeley Fifth Graders held a retirement party for the word "said". Each student came to the party prepared to say goodbye to "said" while welcoming more descriptive dialogue tags to use in their writing!

Happy Wellness Wednesday! Balancing healthy food choices for lunch from home or school is another way we can keep our minds and bodies strong.

Our fifth graders enjoy their kindergarten buddies outside of the classroom, too...recess is always more fun with a buddy!

District Grade 1 teachers are enjoying Day #3 Training of Responsive Classroom, which includes child development and engaging learning environments. By November, all K-5 teachers will have completed Day #3 and look forward to the final day of training in January 2023.

Mrs. Percarpio's class and I had a great time during their Morning Meeting. We played "Alibi"; I was the investigator trying to solve the mystery....which, after some time, I finally figured out! Thank you again to Mrs. Percarpio and her class.

Thank you Berkeley students, staff, parents, and Westwood Police Department for another successful, safe, and fun Walk to School Day!

Learning with Mrs. Houck is always fun...first graders are showing and using short vowel sounds.
