Our 3rd graders Celebrating Women’s History Month!





5th graders started fantasy book clubs this week. The clubs consisted of a mix of cohort 1, 2, and remote students. They "met" virtually in a breakout rooms and engaged in great conversations.

We loved reading “Frozen Dreams” written by
Lauren Tarshis in our Storyworks Jr and learning about Matthew Henson and the North Pole.





Today we celebrated Read Across America with our guest readers. Thank you Miss Marie, the WT Children’s librarian and PO Osenbruck from the WT Police Dept.

The JFG staff and teachers were showered with ROUND 2 of STAFF SHOUT OUTS! Thank you to our parents and students for bringing joy, motivation, inspiration, and light to our hall and our days!

For the last couple of weeks in Social Studies our FIFTH GRADERS researched famous African-Americans and then presented their research on flipgrid to their classmates.

The JFG teachers and staff were overwhelmed with great joy receiving "Staff Shout - Outs" from our parents and students! Our spirits were lifted by your thoughtful words! Thank you!

We loved having Jamie and Kaitlyn from the Westwood Regional Junior National Honor Society visit our Grade 3 students and read “Cake and I Scream”.

Our first graders are learning and listening to stories in our Black History Month digital library about people with determination and perseverance.


Although virtual, JFG had a successful 100th Day of School!


Due to the forecasted low temperatures, continued precipitation through the night presenting the possibility for icy road conditions, the Westwood Regional Schools will remain in full remote for Friday, February 19. Please refer to your email or the district website for details.

Third Grade classes enjoyed our Virtual Field Trip to Tenafly Nature Center to learn about the Lives of the Lenape.

Back from a long weekend on a Wellness Wednesday with an Orange Essential Oil Sachet. Orange essential oil increases mood & mental alertness. This sachet is the perfect pick-me-up & an excellent tool for a mindfulness break to recharge our JFG teachers and staff!
