
We are already busy preparing for the 22-23 school year! Our district consultant Tracey Severns met with teachers to discuss best practices for the co-teaching model. Teachers are lifelong learners!


We were so excited to welcome our newest members of the Washington family today! Our incoming kindergarten students came to visit for orientation and had the chance to meet our amazing teachers. We can't wait to see all of their smiling faces in September!


Our kindergarten students took a walking trip to our local library! What a great way to get them excited about reading for the summer! Thank you to Marie Joyce for working so closely with our school to promote literacy and strong connections to our wonderful community.




Congratulations to our students in grades 1-3 for performing in their very first concert! It was a PACKED house at Washington and our kids rocked it!! Thank you to Ms. Mendez and Mr. Lipnick for all of your work in preparing our musicians for a fantastic show!




It was a perfectly gorgeous Field Day!! Washington students had a blast competing in events to celebrate fitness and health! Thank you to Mr. O'Melia for a memorable day for all, and to all of the wonderful parent volunteers who helped out :)





Washington second graders culminated their Opinion Writing Unit with a writing contest! Special guest judges came to give each student a special award. What talented writers we have!





Thank you Washington Township Officer Dave for visiting 2F yesterday. Officer Dave answered lots of questions about being an officer and working in our great community! Thank you for having such a strong presence in our school and keeping us safe!


To continue to foster positive thinking during Mental Health Awareness Month, kindness rocks were placed in front of the school surrounding our newly planted flowers! Thank you to Mrs. Santagato for organizing this project and for fostering our students' mental health every day!





Ms. Zakar's "Zak Pack" has been learning about entrepreneurship! After hosting a successful school store, students counted their profits and took a walking field trip to the Valley Bank to deposit the funds and learn about the banking process.



Washington students spent an afternoon focusing on wellness and community building at our annual Fun Fitness Challenge! Students participated in basketball, soccer, yoga, boot camp, and walking stations, and ended the day with a dance party! Thank you to our amazing PSO!





Marie Joyce from the Township Library partnered with our Media Specialist Mrs. Vander Pyl to have a "book tasting" for students to share books that will be available to students this summer! We hope all of our students take advantage of the library's wonderful services!



Washington students wore green to recognize Mental Health Awareness. A group of special students were chosen from our "Cardinal Birdhouse" to plant flowers around the school, generously donated by our amazing PSO! Spending time in nature is a great way to boost mental health!





It is Mental Health Awareness Month! Today staff and students sported tie dye. Every student decorated a link with a positive message that we connected into one long chain to represent that we are all "tied" together as a community!





Today marked the Grand Opening of the "Crazy Convenient Cardinal Mart"! Our entrepreneurial members of the Zac Pack worked hard to bring this special event to every classroom at Washington School. What a great way to learn about creating a business!




Washington Third graders had a blast while learning about environmental science at the Meadowlands Environmental Center!





Washington Staff came out to support our annual PSO Gala! What a fun night and great opportunity to finally bring our whole community together. Thank you to our amazing PSO for all they do, and to Mrs. Lopez and Mrs. Nabhani for ALL of their hard work putting it all together!



Second graders got to take their first field trip EVER! They had a great time at Turtleback Zoo!




Second graders have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly! After watching the transformation, they released them into the world!




Our students are ready to rock the NJSLA!! Our fourth and fifth graders were invited to school early to get their blood circulating and brain waves activated! They were welcomed by positive messages written by their younger school peers. You got this Washington!





Thank you to our amazing PSO for all of the sweet treats to start our week! Staff enjoyed coffee and donuts this morning, and a visit from Curbside Confections during our lunch! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
