We had a special WRMS visitor thanks to Ms. Garcia! Author Craig Grossi, the voice behind "Craig and Fred," spoke to our 6th-grade students about his moving memoir. "Craig and Fred" recounts the true journey of a U.S. Marine and his unlikely companion, a stray dog found in Afghanistan. New Jersey School Counselors Association (NJSCA) annually nominates their peers and select a counselor to be chosen as the Bergen County School Counselor of the Year.
Westwood Regional Middle School Counselor, Caitlin Fabrocini, was selected as the Bergen County School Counselor of the Year recipient by the NJSCA for all her work in school counseling innovations, effective school counseling programs, leadership skills, and contributions to student achievement. Thank you to our Board of Education and Superintendent for recognizing Ms. Fabrocini at last night's meeting.
What would your dream room look like? Dr. Calderón witnessed 6th grade engineers in Catalano's class tackling this question by designing their very own dream rooms! They're sketching floor plans and carefully considering how items fit proportionally within the space. French students at WRMS explored the meaning of 'Mardi Gras' by making colorful masks learning how it is celebrated throughout the world. Festival fun was had by all.
The WRMS World Cultures Club had a great day visiting The United Nations in NYC where students explored how caring about humanity makes all the difference in the world. Remember the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Thank you to the High School for opening up their doors to so many interested middle school students. We had a blast at Theater Day!
The Theater Day Trip to the high school was a resounding success. WRMS theater students and JPAC members explored the high school theater program and enjoyed a sneak preview of the spring musical, Mamma Mia!
The first meeting of the new JPDC Dance Club this week was a success! There was so much creativity and excitement for all styles of dance! We can't wait for our Spring Performance!
