Today we welcomed Responsive Classroom to work alongside 25+ K-8 educators on teacher/student language. Educators learned activities and strategies that help
students practice core speaking/listening skills, explored and practiced effective teacher
language that deepens student academic engagement and learning and collaborated across building levels in breakout sessions.

CarePlus will host a presentation, Connected Conversations on November 20, 2024 at 6:00pm. This workshop will focus on healthy communication skills, boundaries and connecting with family in meaningful ways. Our Girls on the Run team completed their 5K over the weekend as a culmination of their fall season. A huge thank you to the coaches and families who attended and ran with the girls. Ms. Hughes was lucky to get to join in the fun! #BESTatBrookside


Our Student Assistance Counselor and Director of School Counseling/Wellness were given the opportunity to connect with Body Positive Works owner and clinician, Melanie. We were in awe of the breadth and depth of services offered to clients of all ages in one place, making accessing support easy and comprehensive. Body Positive Works offers personalized guidance and support to help you achieve your well-being goals. Their diverse services are tailored to your unique needs. We look forward to building our partnership with them.






Mrs. Alvarez and our Brookside families collected 212 pounds of candy during our second annual candy swap! The candy was donated to Valley Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House of Valhalla, NY. #BESTatBrookside





Brookside students celebrated World Kindness Day on November 13th through different activities. Third grade students created cards for different people in their lives. Ms. Hughes was lucky to receive a few! #BESTatBrookside



Today is World Kindness Day. It falls on a Wednesday, providing an opportunity for people to fill their week with acts of kindness and goodwill. This day serves as a reminder of the positive impact that kindness can have on individuals, our community, and the world at large.
We encourage individuals to practice kindness today and every day!



A new gallery wall has been added to Brookside's entrance thanks to our wonderful PTO! Student art work will be on display throughout the year from Mrs. Portelli's art lessons. We are so proud of our students! #BESTatBrookside


The Brookside Bazaar was a huge success this weekend! Our favorite part was seeing our students demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills and talent as they created their own wares for the event. Thank you to our PTO once again running this wonderful event. #BESTatBrookside

WWRSD Special Education Parents Advisory Group (SEPAG) is hosting their next meeting on Monday, October 14 at 6:30 PM in the High School Media Center. During the meeting, Mr. Renshaw and Dr. Gluck will deliver an overview of the Special Education process, explain the components of an IEP, and provide a "who is who" description of the Child Study Team Members. We hope to see you there.
