WRHS TV/Film Students traveled to downtown Westwood and met with local businesses as part of their 'Building Local Brands Through Media Project'. 80/20 Smash, Harmony Tea Room, Triple 10 Boxing, The Gem Mine, Goldberg's Bagels, Conrad's and Marijana Hair Salon opened their doors to students, helping them gain valuable real world experience.


Congratulations to our High School Academic Decathlon Team (WACADECA)! Region 2 champs, 7 of the top 9 students, highest score in the state, 62 medals/awards/plaques! Gold, silver, bronze sweep! Great job by all of our students and coach Mr. J. Thomas. Go Cards!

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergen County Sheriff’s
Office are pleased to announce that applications are being accepted for the Bergen
County Youth Police Academy – Class #19.
The Academy is an all-day program offered to high school students residing
in or attending high school in Bergen County. Preference will be given to students
entering the 11th or 12th grade in September 2025. This year’s Academy will be held July 7 – July 18, 2025.

The Bergen County Curriculum Consortium is offering three $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in Bergen County. These scholarships are awarded as follows:
One for a student attending a 2- or 4-year college
One for a student attending a vocational or technical school
One for a student attending any of the above who has completed the FAFSA and demonstrates financial need
Eligibility Criteria:
Must attend a public high school in a district represented in BCCC
Must be a high school senior graduating in June 2025
Must have been accepted to a 2- or 4-year college, vocational, or technical school
Submit the application FORM, including an essay and proof of acceptance, by April 4, 2025.

Our high school visual art students received awards at the annual Young Expressions Juried Art Exhibit at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey on January 30th. Jamie Petrov was awarded 3rd Best in Show, Mason Pincay received Honorable Mention in the Digital Art category, Oz LoPiccolo received 3rd place in the Mixed Media category, and Isabella Cassai received 2nd Place in the Mixed Media category. Great job!



Senior Sophia Mastroianni received a Scholastics Gold Key award for the senior portfolio category. At this stage, her work will move on to the national competition. Her work was recognized for its outstanding merit in originality, skill, and personal voice. Great job!



Our partners at NJ4S are offering a virtual parent workshop- Social Media and Its Impact on Youth. Bergen County parents will learn current trends and share best practices for effective discussion about the impacts of technology and social media use with your tweens/teens.

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) located in Bloomfield NJ, visited the high school. Students were shown all of the programs they offer, in the auto industry; including automotive training, engine repair, welding, collision repair, painting, motorcycle, and marine repair. In addition, UTI provided the students with information on tuition, tuition reimbursement, job placement, and many other financial aid opportunities they offer. Students Ms. Gilbert’s chemistry class reviewed mathematical conversions by performing a fun lab of weighing pennies, rice, and beads on an electric balance by comparing the mass of the items to the number of items.

The High School Honors Design Thinking Class has been collaborating and working on ideas to present to Coca-Cola. The past two weeks they have been specifically working on ideas regarding the visibility/bundles and the podcast/social bubble. Yesterday the class presented their ideas to teachers to receive feedback for what might work and what needs more brainstorming. They are very excited to present their ideas within the next couple of weeks.
