In Mr. DePeri's Algebra I class, students were using algebra tiles to factor perfect square trinomials. This hands-on approach allows students to visually model the trinomials as squares, making the concept easier to grasp. #WRHS #Algebra #MathEducation

This in-person event will showcase over 100 ways high school students can spend summer 2025, including on-campus pre-college programs at the nation's most prestigious universities, study abroad opportunities, STEM programs, teen travel, art/portfolio prep, test prep, and local nonprofits seeking summer volunteers. Mr. Piskadlo’s AP Environmental Class holds a debate on the merits of Golden Rice to tease out the issues surrounding its use in developing countries.
Biology students are working on a project that displays the steps of mitosis using paper plates, string, and pipe cleaners.
Our Work-Based Learning Coordinator, Ms. Murray has set up a visit to the Mahwah campus of Lincoln Technical Institute. The visit to Lincoln Tech will take place on April 25, 2025. Ms. McKaba's Honors Chemistry class just learned about the indicators of a chemical reaction, such as a production of heat, and to try and counter the cold they did a warm demo known to some as the Whoosh Bottle and to others The Howler (shoutout Harry Potter). From the production of heat to the visual to the pure sound of this demo, it is always a student favorite!

Ms. McKaba's Honors Chemistry class is at it again with the chemical reactions! This demo, called the Hungry Dragon, shows the chemical reaction indicator of the production of light and involves a melted chemical reacting with a gummy bear to produce quite the "light show."

Students had the opportunity to interact with neurosurgeons and surgical team members observing a live neurosurgery in real time at the Liberty Science Center. They had the chance to ask questions as the surgery took place. This valuable experience also exposed our students to various career opportunities in science and medicine. Great experience!
Ayden Abreu is participating in the High School's Work Based Learning Program @ Valley Hospital. He has been rotating through departments, focusing on the recruitment department. Ayden will be majoring in psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Great experience!
Ms. Murray recently toured Universal Technology Institute in Bloomfield NJ. They have 16 campuses across the country that offer housing. UTI offers skilled trades, automotive, diesel, collision, marine, motorcycle, HVAC, & welding in various transportation industries all achievable in less than 18 months. Ms. Florek's English classes came to the media center for a "Speed Dating with a Book" activity. Students participated in multiple rounds of 5 minute "dates" getting to know books from seven different genres and identifying any that they would like to spend more time with.
