In Child Development classes, students played the “Brain Game” where they built brains with materials they earned through childhood life experiences they were dealt!! These were some of the tallest and the strongest brains!
As a way to emphasize civic engagement and to inspire our students to become informed citizens, our school sponsored a Town Hall event. The Town Hall featured political parties who are running for the two State Assembly seats in the 39th Legislative District.
Students from Mr. Piskadlo's AP Environmental classes assisted 5th graders from George and Washington Schools with water quality tests of Schlegel Lake!
Our Design Thinking class along with their teachers Ms. Murray & Mr. DeBlasio, met their corporate sponsors, Mars Wrigley and were presented with their upcoming challenge! They will be presenting their findings to the company in January! .

Counselors will be visiting 8th grade study halls throughout the year to conduct guidance workshops! Our Quarter 1 workshop focuses on getting to know your counselor, completing an interest inventory, and reviewing the importance of getting involved in our school community.
Rutgers Newark visited WHS today. Rutgers Newark offers over 40 undergraduate programs and over 50 graduate programs. It is the premier urban research university with state of the art facilities for all majors and programs.
